VIOLET FIELDS - original abstract expressionist painting - 16x20 inch
Ever since I was a little tiny human, I have loved violets. Wouldn't it be amazing to just float above a field of them, watching their soft velvety petals sway in the wind? Anyway, I think they're pretty neat. This 16x20 inch painting will help you feel like that every day when you hang it in your home.
I am an emerging nonbinary queer artist working in acrylic and watercolor paints, creating abstract expressionist paintings.
My work focuses on the contrast between urban life and nature. I am inspired by concrete walls overgrown by ivy and tree branches, train underpasses covered in graffiti and grass, a strong New York summer rainstorm beating against my window, the decaying Red Hook warehouses, tiny alleys, and the way the air smells on the first few days of September. It is my aim to create paintings that bring a moment of serenity and calm to the viewer. I work with both traditional surfaces, and recycled/reclaimed materials.
